ESS AED Info Page
The Department of Earth and Space Sciences maintains four AEDs. Three are in Johnson Hall and one is in the hallway of the Pacific Northwest Seismic Network (PNSN) in ATG. The ESS Safety Committee is in charge of maintaining them, ensuring proper battery supply, and replacing consumables.
AED Locations
- Atmospheric Sciences-Geophysics Building (ATG) - One AED is located on Floor 1 in the Pacific Northwest Seismic Network (PNSN) space in the main hallway, centrally located near the elevator / stairwell area and Seismology Lab, across from the men's bathroom.
- Johnson Hall - All three AEDs in Johnson Hall are located near the elevator column, on Floors 0, 1 and 3.
How can I prepare myself to use an AED?
- The number one thing you can do to prepare for having an AED close by is to take a First Aid course that has AED and CPR hands-on instruction.
- Know the location of the nearest AED.
- Read the manual. They are all HeartSine SAM 450P. A pdf of the manual can be found here
